Fitness Job title: CrossFit Athlete

I’ve been athletic since I can remember. I was 7 years old playing soccer with the boys, and that same year I started to competitive in swimming. When I was about 18 I started lifting weights and I instantly got hooked. I got introduced to CrossFit from a coworker when I was in the Coast Guard and I never looked back. I used to have the same gym and cardio routine and CrossFit mixed up everything.

I started going to USPN months before I was sponsored. I went there for protein; pre-workouts and I also trusted the advice given to me from the people working in the shop. I was honored to have a chance to represent USPN in the CrossFit community!

What motivates me everyday is the need to succeed. Whither it’s a CrossFit competition, a diet plan or school. I work and train hard everyday to reach my goals, because at the end of the day I don’t want to look back and think “I could have done more.”

One piece of advice I could give anyone is don’t give up on yourself. I would never have thought 5 years ago that I would be sponsored or competing in CrossFit. If you want something go after it, it’s simple. The only person holding you back from your goals is yourself. Surround yourself with people and supportive communities that will help you reach your full capability.

My biggest struggle would be getting frustrated at not achieving my goals right away. I see this in my gym with other athletes as well. We get frustrated for not lifting as much weight as we had wanted, not being able to walk on our hands for 60ft, or even following a diet plan. When stuff like this happens to me I have to take a step back and see how far I have come over the months, and maybe the past year. I have learned to realize I can’t achieve my goals over night. Everything takes time and the right mindset. Write your goals down! Find someone with similar goals and hold each other accountable.
